Phew I have not written for a while, but here goes!
Have you seen a turtle? If not, google! And have a good look at it!
Very cute creatures, aren’t they?
Now, what is on the back of a turtle?
A shell...well his house (technically) is always on its back and guess what? So is yours!
Wherever you go, you bring yourself to that place...you cannot escape your self.
You might think a new job, new relationship, new place, new “toys”, new distractions, new this, new that will make things better...yeah, they will, but for a while, it is a quick fix so that you do not have to go deeper and see what is there, but it will not last as you take yourself wherever you go...no escape! Universe has some funny sense of humour! Here you go around searching and all you need is always with you, right here, now! Hilarious!
Sooner or later things will “pop up” to draw your attention and then you might find yourself questioning yourself why is this happening to me? Nothing has changed…here we go again and the story goes on with the dialogues we have with ourselves to…to…to…find excuses, but no solutions!
Different situations, people, places, yet it is the same core energy that is creating those external or internal turmoils in the first place. Hmm, what an interesting game life is.
To keep in mind and heart that you cannot escape yourself is pretty freeing and scary! Omg! I am stuck with this gal? Yikes!
I keep this up my sleeve as a reminder when I am wanting to “escape” some difficult situations, conflicts or relationships (I wouldn’t say it works all the time though! Ha! Self-acceptance comes in handy here! Oregato!).
I can’t escape! Ouh well, what do I do then?
Practice! Practice! Practice!
Awareness and mindfulness in ones actions, thoughts and words.
Phew that is difficult, not sure I want to do that…I am tired…no more…haven’t I done enough already?! Where are my “gifts”? Why is everyone else having it easy and slacking off while I am working my…eemmm off? It is not fair! Can I get a short cut please? I will be very, very good, I promise…just this once…here goes again that tricky fox mind! Finding excuses! So sneaky!
So what to do?
Practice…practice makes perfect practice…
Stop now and take a deep breath, feel how air flows into your nostrils and fills up your whole body, giving life and oxygen and then breathe out…slowly…
Breath by breath, that is all that is needed.
I invite you to practice awareness in your daily life and when those difficult moments come keep reminding yourself that you are more…and you cannot escape yourself no matter how hard you try…so don’t…keep practicing.
